Thanks to the Schengen area and the European Union, Europeans can study all over Europe. This has led to many universities offering international courses. This opens the way for many people from outside of Europe to follow such studies aswell. Although it isn't quite as easy for non-EU members to enroll.
The League of European Research Universities (LERU) is a consortium of some of the most renowned research universities in Europe. LERU's members are based in ten European countries. The interactive map gives an geographic overview of the LERU member universities.
The universities with the greatest prestige enjoy a measure of fame and are likely to be listed in Top ranking lists like these.
This however does not mean other universities are not worth looking at and one should not limit themselves to the universities given in these lists.

We recommend finding a university or a course you wish to follow before selecting a country. That way you will have to research less laws and entry barriers.
